UGC NET 2018 Last date for Application Extended to April 12, 2018

The last date for applications for UGC NET Exam 2018 has been extended to April 12, 2018- Fee for the same will be accepted till April 13, 2018.The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting the National Eligibility Test (CBSE NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission. The UGC NET is conducting for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor, in Indian universities and colleges.

As per the last notice April 5, was the last date for online application and April 6 was the last date for submission of fee for UGC NET Exam 2018. Candidates had difficulty in accessing CBSE’s website as the servers were down since morning and many gave up by evening yesterday.

Dates for Correction in Particulars of UGC NET 2018 Application Form on the website is from 25/04/2018 to 01/05/2018.

Only those below the age of 28 will be considered for JRF. JRF awardees can pursue their doctoral programme in academic institutions like IITs or universities and are entitled to get a stipend. They can work as assistant professors also.
The detailed information bulletin for the NET July 2018 examination was expected to release on February 1, 2018 although it was not announced.

Since there has been a change in the exam pattern the wait is a great hype for the detailed notification. According to the new changes, the NET examination would dispense of three paper format and would instead have a two Paper format. The NET July 2018 exam, accordingly would have two papers – Paper I and II. Out of this, Paper I would be of 100 marks and Paper II would be of 200 marks. Apart from this, the upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship has also been revised and extended from 28 years to 30 years.

The registration for CBSE UGC NET July 2018 examination would start from March 6, 2018. The last date to apply online on would be April 5, 2018 with fee payable until April 6, 2018. The detailed notification is already delayed by over two weeks now. As per sources the detailed notification explaining the changes in the paper pattern should be published on the official website anytime this week on official website anytime soon now. There is no delay in the date proposed for the start of online application. The UGC NET July 2018 examination would be conducted by CBSE on July 6, 2018.

UGC NET July 2018 notification expected shortly

The UGC NET 2018 (July)  notification is expected to release soon on the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) The notification was supposed to be released on 1st February. However, due to unknown reasons, the release was delayed. The NET exam for eligibility for assistant professor and junior research fellowship will be conducted on 8th July 2018. Last year, in April, the board proposed that the UGC NET exam is conducted just once a year. The proposal was made as only 17 percent of the registered candidates give the exam out of which only 4 percent qualify the exam. However, the board has not taken any action and according to recent notifications, the exam will be conducted twice a year. Here, are some changes to the exam that you should know:

1.Instead of three-paper, the exam will be of two-paper format. The first paper will have objective questions that will test the candidates’ aptitude, teaching abilities, and approach towards engaging students. The second paper will include 100 questions which will have to be attempted within 2 hours.
2.The minimum age for applying to the post of Junior Research Fellow has been made to 30 years from 28 years.

3.The duration of the exam has been cut short to three hours from five and a half hours. 1 hour will be given to finish paper 1 consisting of 50 questions. Paper 2 will be two hours long.
Last year, the NET was conducted on 5th November at 1700 exam centers across 91 cities. About 9.3 lakh candidates registered for the exam.
